Veryan South Cornwall
On the south coast of Cornwall, set in the Roseland Heritage Coast, the golden sands of Pendower Beach can be found. Part of Gerrans Bay, Pendower joins with Carne Beach at low tide to form a stretch of sand nearly a mile long. Its south facing aspect means it is sheltered from colder northerly winds and there are great views along the coast in both directions.

Pendower has toilet facilities, and food and drinks can be purchased from the hotels at either end of the beach, making it an ideal holiday destination for families. Furthermore, Pendower has been recommended in the Good Beach Guide 2014 for its excellent water quality, so don't forget those swimsuits. Well behaved dogs are also welcome to come and have a dig in the sand or a splash in the waves, so long as they remain on a lead.

A car park to the rear of the beach can be accessed through the quaint cornish village of Veryan and further parking is available behind Carne Beach or on the cliff top above the beach. Nearby, 6 miles west of Pendower, the village and castle of St. Mawes can be found. This well preserved fort was built in Tudor times to guard the Fal Estuary from attack by the French, along with its sister castle Pendennis on the Falmouth side of the water. The bustling city of Truro is just 10 miles north-west and St. Austell, with its famous Eden Project, only 12 miles to the north-east.

Easy, the car park is situated next to the beach which can be accessed on a flat walk.

There's a large car park located next to the beach, and another car park on the cliffs above the beach.
