Bude Walk

Bude North Cornwall
Park in the Crescent car park by the Tourist Information Centre. Turn right along the canal-side towards the sea past the big lock-gates heading towards the South West Coast Path. The gate is tucked away behind some houses just south of the lock, where a gate leads on to Compass Point and Efford Down beyond.

At the end of the downs on the cliff edge is an interesting little building known locally as The Pepperpot. Continue on and head south over the downs and along the cliff-tops until you reach the Widemouth Bay road. Here you can turn down a lane that will take you through the hamlet of Upton to end up on the eastern bank of the Canal near Rodd's Bridge. You can simply walk back now north along the towpath. The route will take you past Pethericks Mills wetlands reserve. Keep heading along this path and it will bring you to the car park where you started.
