Duporth Beach

St Austell Bay South Cornwall
Duporth beach is a privately owned sandy cove on the edge of St Austell Bay on Cornwall's tranquil south coast. You can walk to Duporth beach across the coast path from the nearby harbour town of Charlestown, or the pretty village of Porthpean, about 2 miles away. Direct access to Duporth beach is restricted to residents of the nearby housing development.

The beach and estate above were once owned by Charles Rashleigh, who was responsible for developing Charlestown. Over the years its ownership has changed hands on a few occasions.

A sheltered bay, the waters at Duporth are generally calm and clear, making it a great spot for a swim, and a pleasant place to kayak, but be aware that there are no lifeguards on the beach at Duporth.
