Porthallow's north-facing gravelly beach looks across Falmouth Bay to the lighthouse on St Anthony Head. This was at one time a thriving fishing village, but only a few of Porthallow's working boats now remain. This is a great family beach with lots of rock pools at low tide and some great walks and facilities nearby. The name 'Porthallow' comes from the Cornish meaning 'port at the end of the moor'.
