Porthcurno Beach

Porthcurno West Cornwall
Nestled in a valley between the cliffs, this beautiful beach simply has to be seen to be believed. Overlooked by the World famous Minack Theatre, this small but beautifully formed beach is on the far west of Cornwall, only a short drive from Lands End and 10 miles on from the bustling market town of Penzance. This entire stretch of coastline is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which can be explored on this beautiful circular walk.

Enclosed by the majestic Logan Rock, this breathtakingly stunning beach could easily be mistaken for a tropical destination, with its warmer climate, golden soft sand and seabed of crushed white shells creating the turquoise glimmer beneath the sea. On a sunny day, Porthcurno can only be described as paradise, it's a fantastic family friendly beach and a lovely place to visit. At very low tides, you can walk around to Pedn Vounder, only more spectacular by virtue of it being harder to get to and therefore a quieter beach than Porthcurno which can get very busy in the high season.

Logan Rock is a rocking 80 ton granite boulder perched on the edge of the cliffs and rock formation jutting out into the sea, and is a 30 minute walk along the South West Coast Path to the east of Porthcurno beach. Horrace is a small rocky island off the Logan Rock peninsula and another smaller granite island called Great Goular is only visible at low tide.

Medium, a five minute walk from the car park down a narrow path with a few steps on to the beach
