The village of St Neot lies in a sheltered valley on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, enjoying the mild Cornish climate and an outstanding warmth of community spirit. It holds many events, from a pantomime in February to the Summer Carnival, Fetes and a Flower Festival. This "Royalist" village celebrates the restoration to the throne of King Charles II annually on May 29th, Oak Apple Day. There are also many concerts held in Carnglaze Caverns, the Church and the amphitheatre at Door Step Green. The area is steeped in history and legend, with a Church famous for its medieval stained glass windows, and a Holy Well nearby. The village pottery is a popular attraction. Bodmin Moor is replete with archaeological remains, and the well known Jamaica Inn and Dozmary Pool (famous for the King Arthur Excalibur story) are nearby. Nature lovers can enjoy walking on the moor or visit beautiful Golitha Falls. You can also take advantage of local trout and salmon fishing or relax in the Door Step Green, a garden made by the villagers.Â
