The Smugglers sits in an elevated position overlooking Newlyn harbour and Mount's Bay one mile away from Penzance and Mousehole and eight miles from Land's End. Newlyn has the largest fishing fleet in the south of the country, with its medieval quay dating back to 1437. The front part of the Smugglers dates back to the early 1700s, when it was a number of small dwellings. Over the years the Smugglers has had a variety of uses; it was once a sweet shop and a dressmakers. It has been run as a hotel and restaurant since the early 1950s. With the fishing fleet landing their catch just moments away, quality and freshness are assured. The Smugglers offers a wide variety of local fish and shellfish, with meat and vegetarian options always available. They are great supporters of Cornish produce and strive to acquire the finest local ingredients from top quality local suppliers. Menus are changed to reflect the seasons and the produce available.
