Tolcarne Beach

Newquay North Cornwall
Tolcarne is a small west facing beach in Newquay bay. You can access Tolcarne by either taking the steps or using the sloped road from the top of the huge cliffs that surround the beach, or alternatively at low tide you can walk from Newquay town centre across neighbouring Towan beach and Great Western beach.

Tolcarne is a popular spot for families, and is also well known amongst surfers and body-boarders, as the shape of the cliffs surrounding the beach help to create a unique wave known as the 'Tolcarne Wedge', perfect for body-boarding.

There are two cafe/restaurants on the beach at Tolcarne, as well as a beach goods shop, toilets and a surf school.

Moderate, there's a lot of steps to climb down, or a steep road, or a flat walk across the sand at low tide.
